Brussels financed with 1.6 Million Euros Reciclauto Navarra, its RECYSHIP project. In total, they have been granted 23 Spanish environmental projects with 28.7 Million Euros

The European Commission has announced today that it will finance with 28.7 million Euros 23 Spanish environmental projects with the program LIFE +. Of this amount, 825,000 Euros will go to a program of the Oso Pardo Foundation, called ' Bear Corridors ' which seeks the recovery of this species in the mountains of Cantabria.
Spain is the second Member State in which Brussels has selected a larger number of activities behind Italy (26 projects), but well ahead of Germany (11), France (8) or United Kingdom (6). Throughout the European Union, The EU executive will grant 186 million Euros to 143 projects.
The first group of Spanish initiatives, grouped under the heading ' LIFE + Environment Policy and Governance‘, comprising pilot projects aimed at developing policy ideas, technologies, methods and innovative instruments. Including RECYSHIP program, developed by Reciclauto Navarra (which will receive 1.6 million Euros) to reduce the environmental impact of ship dismantling.
The COWtoPLANT projects (925.000 Euros), of the company Zurko research will also benefit to transform meat and cattle hair in biopesticide; LEGIOTEX (506.000 Euros), the association of Textile Industry Research, aimed at reducing and eliminating the problem of legionella in the textile sector; WGF -PP (2.6 million), Befesa Plastics, focusing on the recycling of fibreglass; or ASDP (1.1 million), an initiative of the Board of Extremadura to improve the energy design of social house.
Other selected projects are 3R -FISH (595,000 Euros), the Technological Centre of the Sea, to improve the quality of seawater encouraging recycling of the instruments used by the fishing industry; INTEGRAL - B ( 743,000 Euros) , the Association of Food Industry Research , focused on the production of biodiesel ; LIFE + BOSCOS ( 718,000 Euros) , the Consell Insular of Menorca, designed to facilitate the adaptation of Mediterranean forest ecosystems in Menorca to climate change; or AQUA- PLANN PROJECT (333,000), the City of Abegondo (Galicia ), to safeguard water quality of the rivers Mero and resevoir Barcés Abegondo – Cecebre.
Community funding will also come to the initiatives BIOGRID ( 896,000 euros) , driven by Naturgas Energy Distribution and focused on the biogas ; BATsGRAPH ( 436,000 Euros) , promoted by the Industrial Association of Optics, Colour and Imaging to reduce emissions of the printing industry ; WEEE -NET ( 627,000 Euros) of Inkoa Systems to launch a technology platform for the sustainable management of waste electrical and electronic equipment ; WATER CHANGE (616,000 Euros) , the Water Technology Centre , to create models of development of water resources and to conduct a pilot project in the river Llobregat ; and BIOCELL (1.2 million) , also the Water Technology Centre , which will study the feasibility of producing energy in wastewater treatment plants

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION
The EU executive also selected two projects under the rubric ' LIFE + Information and Communication ‘, which aims to disseminate information on environmental issues and organize awareness campaigns and training on forest fire prevention. It is CHANGING THE CHANGE ( 267,000 Euros) , a campaign of Unions Agricultural - UPA for agricultural and forestry sector in Galicia on climate change and ENVIRONMENTAL SEDUCTION ( 795,000 Euros), an initiative of the City of Valencia to disseminate environmental values Albufera .
Finally, receive Community funding a series of projects aimed at improving the conservation status of threatened species and habitats (LIFE + Nature and Biodiversity) among which is that of the Brown Bear Foundation. In addition , we selected secans (1 million Euros) , the Centre Technologic Forestall de Catalunya , aims to protect the steppe habitats for birds in the centre of Catalonia ; and INDEMARES ( 7.7 million ) of the Biodiversity Foundation, to develop an inventory and create a network of marine areas included in the Natura 2000 network.
The latest initiatives selected by the Commission are PrioriMancha (1.6 million Euros), of the Ministry of Environment of Castilla -La Mancha , aimed at strengthening the protection of species like the Iberian lynx ; Reneix ( 787,000 Euros) , the Consell Insular de Menorca to recover native flora ; INAGUA ( 584,000 Euros) , the Canary Islands Government program also focused on the recovery of local flora ; and Steeples of Azaba (1.9 million) project involving Spain and Portugal led by Nature and Man Foundation.
